100ml draught at the brewpub. Clear dark brown colour. Missing head. Malty aroma. Fresh, rounded flavour of apples and oranges. Dry ending with light bitterness. Perhaps some smoked aroma, but otherwise hard to detect any smoky profile (12.01.2007).

Draught at the brewpub. Golden color, small white head. Chocolate scent, surprising considering the color of the beer. Fruity taste, though fairly standard. Bitter aftertaste. Low to medium bitterness. Medium mouthfeel. Hard to detect the smokey scent and flavor, is there any?

A hazy orange beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma is very lightly malty with a touch of smoke, I would like a bit more power in the aroma. The flavor characteristic, yet still light, with a lovely smoked note from beechwood, which gives it a note of rope, combined with a fruityness where peaches stand out. A beer with a high drinability, I think I had four pints in a night.

(On tap) Hazy, pale amber with a small, off-white head. Malty aroma. Medium body with marked sweet and malty presence. Rather vague smoked notes and a subdued bitterness. A very, very mild smoked. It’s quite obvious that Copenhagen is a far distance from Bamberg. Apparently the smoked malts are home made based on beech chips. 200606
