This ale is brewed from no less than four different types of malt as well as barley flakes and roasted barley. The amounts of hops used are relatively small, which gives the beer an evident malt character.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] A clear red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of berries, but also a slight touch of malt. The flavor is sour with notes of berries and hints of wood.

Draught
Dark brown, not much head. Burnt sugar, yeast in the aroma. Medium-bodied, toffeeish, a bit roasted. Alcoholic punch in the finish. Crisp, a bit harsh-bitter but drinkable.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Mahogany colour. Sweet and really roasty. Fruity and lightly buttery with near full body. The mouthfeel is soft and graceful, and the malt flavour complex. Drier woody finish. The best beer yet from Oppigårds!
