Bottle courtesy of winter santa 14/15. Thank you RobertDale. Pours oily pitch black with a small creamy dark mocha head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty, roasty and spicy with roasted malts, burnt caramel, ancho chile, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, raisins in rum, burnt wood, vanilla hard candy, prunes and hints of hay. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and tiny spicy with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, charred wood, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt raisins, arrack, vanilla, ancho chili, cinnamon, moist soil, hay and alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny spicy hot, tiny roasted astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, charred wood, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla, ancho chili, moist soil, hay, raisins in rum and alcohol. Bit thin bodied and but hot but all in all a tasty spiced up IS.

Bottle @ Vinterslaget på Østersøen, Sønderborg. Pours very dark coffee brown with stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt, chocolate, caramel, coffee, chilli, and fruit. Bitter, roasty onset, quickly offset by sweet notes of malt, caramel and coffee and touches of chilli. Warming alcohol presence. Bitter aftertaste with notes of chilli. Really good. Good and hot. Hot and spicy and good. Pirates of all countries unite and bomb!

Oily, clear and very, very dark brown. Small brown head. Aroma has cocoa and rum. Cocoa flavour, chili without immediate burn, rum and vanilla. Chili burn creeps up later, but works quite well with the other flavours. Warming but well controlled alcohol (or is it chili). Very nice.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Just about black. Halo, and a couple of islands of tan head. Well, this is basically the best rum truffle you’ve ever had, in beer form. Viscous, rich, smooth, and boozy. Beautifully pitched chilli heat helps preventing this being heavy going. In fact, this is stupidly drinkable. Finishes long, warm, and chewy bitter. Tasty gear.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Thanks to Jack for the share. Big, smooth coffee and dark chocolate aroma with flourishes of dark fruit. Medium to big sweet flavor with oily chocolate, ripe dark fruits, slight booze, burnt wood, raspberry, mocha. Full bodied with fine carbonation and oily mouthfeel. Warming finish with hints of chili spice, dark chocolate, torched wood. Great stuff.

Keg at Craft Clerko, thanks to jackl. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is rich, roasty, espresso coffee, spice, chocolate gateaux, liqueur, booze, vanilla, nougat, marshmallow and toasty. The taste is rich, filthy, plenty of dark fruits, warming spice, toast, earth, light chilli, toasted marshmallow, mild acidity, tummy goodness, chocolate cake, toffee, roasted malt, wood and earth with a warming, spicy finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily carbonation. Drinks very easily for the abv. Dangerously drinkable.

Bottle. A very sweet imperial stout with heavy notes of milk chocolate and vanilla. Also small notes of chili in the aftertaste. I liked this version better than the original version of bomb. This is sweeter and less spicy.
