Pours very dark brown from the bottle. The thin brown head fades almost instantly. Aroma is rum, vanilla, coconut, birthday cake icing. Wonderfully sweet and complex. Taste is quite sweet, dominated by a rum and vanilla mix. The finish is long, rum-ladened, warming, and very sweet. Body is heavy with a mild carbonation. Overall — a good dessert beer with plenty of rum notes.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a medium dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of coffee, with some vanilla and notes of rum is quite intense. Taste is a mix of coffee with some chocolate notes and some notes of rum with traces of ashes. Body is full with oily texture and good carbonation with some warming alcohol notes. Pretty intense imperial stout.

Draught@CBC 2016 Red Session. Black colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, alcohol, some wood, vanilla, mild ashes and some coconut. Flavour is having the same elements, but ends up slightly too boozy.

0.355 l bottle from ’Bierkompass’, bottled in October 2014. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, quickly diminishing, brown layer. Sweetish, quite roasty-malty, a bit spicy aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, vanilla and a touch of rum. Very sweet, malty, moderately roasty and slightly spicy taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, praline and vanilla as well as hints of rum and toasted coconut, followed by a very long, heavily roasty-bitter, quite peppery-spicy and hot finish. Full body, creamy to oily, almost syrupy mouthfeel, flat. Wow! Damn tasty, very intense but the flavours match very well, barrel-aging is nicely subtle, maybe just a bit too much of the chilis. Great beer!

12oz bottle courtesy of Darrell. Black pour, small tan head. Robust heady RIS aromas; chocolate, roast malts, molasses, booze, wood, vanilla. Taste piles on with all of these, one flavor blending into the next, some coffee too. Damn tasty.

Tap at Shelton Brothers. Tons of coffee and roasted cacao nib on the nose. Sweet chocolate milk with cinnamon, brown sugar, molasses with a touch of coconut. Hides the alcohol so well.

On tap at CBC 2016, red session. Pours black with tan head. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, rum notes, dark fruit. Quite sweet with moderate bitterness. Oily, full bodied, alcohol well hidden.
