Abbey style tripel in this Bonifacius series produced by the former Halve Maan brewery in Hulst, now called Vermeersen. Medium thick, mousy, off-white, irregularly lacing, stable head over an initially clear, deep peach blonde beer with orangey hue and fine strings of sparkling rising up from the bottom, turning hazy and more orangey with sediment. Aroma of banana, peach candy, quite some DMS (cooked cauliflower), industrial honey, stewed carrot, freshly cut red apples, faint hints of rusty iron, sugared tea, tomato soup. Sweetish onset, lots of banana ester, very bubblegummy, hints of peach and freshly cut apple, medium carb, full, slick mouthfeel; smooth cereally and lightly caramelly malt body, sweet and a bit sugary, with very light metallic edges. Finishes with a continuation of this sweetness, banana ester and metallic touch, hardly bittered by a dim herbal hop touch; warming, 'jenever'-ish alcohol ensues and the DMS returns once more retronasally. Sweet and superficial Belgian tripel ticking all the boxes, but even in Belgium it hardly gets any more cliché than this - and this is Dutch. Redundant in all respects.

Bottle shared by Inoven. Clear golden color, small white head. Aroma is floral to sweetish perfumy. Flavor is dominantly sweet, sweet sugary malty, dandelions. Average body and carbonation. Meh.

Flesje gedeeld met Tomhendriksen en Benzai. Goudgeel bier met veel vlokken. Aroma is fruitig. De smaak is fruitig en hoppig. Smaak ebt snel weg.

Glas gedeelt door Inoven, geprobeerd met Benzai. Het is een helder oranjekleurig bier met weinig schuim. Het heeft een moutige wat fruitige geur. De smaak is moutig en kruidig.
