Riktigt gott!

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 26 Feb 2024, large sample. Dark brown color, short frothy brown lacing. Aroma of bit smoke, dark roast, chocolate, coffee, bit rhum. Quite sweet in taste, some malty bitterness, bit oatmeal cookie, slight alcohol. Bit out of balance. Lacks a bit of creaminess you would expect from an oatmeal stout.

29th March 2015
Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is smooth with modest fine carbonation. Oaty sweet dark malts. Tangy mild fruits and a little pruney dark fruits. Trace of barrel vanilla. Very mild coffee. Light smooth finish. Nicely joined up. All flavours in good balance. Very drinkable, especially for it’s abv.

Bottle, 0.33l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Pours pitch black color with small totally diminishing light brown head. Aroma of oak wood, rum, licorice, roasted malt and mild chocolate. Taste starts with sweet and rich roasted malt with woody note, following with mainly licorice, mouthfeel is warming, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Lingering, woody and boozy...

Bottle picked up from Kaapse bottle shop last weekend, consumed at Frank (camper) Generation Europe, Rue de L’Eléphant, Brussels, Saturday 21st March 2015 Black and a tad oily on pouring, actually I retract that, it isn’t black at all its very dark brown peeling away to a light brown at edges. Just a bit flat in mouth but it does taste good. Really chocolatey but softened by the oakiness which adds a smoothness and creaminess. It’s nice, in fact it’s very, very good but I am unconvinced that it’s a better beer than the base beer, interesting yes better no. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Thank you gentlefolk! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Drank side-by-side Regular & Oak-Aged version. Regular pours black, small mocha head. OA version is has noticeably less head, only a few non-lasting bubbles. Regular version smells like grainy med. quality coffee, bit thin, clear oats, touch creamy oats, sugar, grainy thin coffee. OA version is way heavier smell, thick liquorish all of the sudden dominates with quite a bit of varnish, cheap booze. Taste of Regular is a bit thin, grainy coffee, chocolate, bitter roast, light herbal, touch creamy oats, okay but not very impressive if not weak for the style. OA one taste like varnish (another bad BA job?), liquorish, cheap boozy varnish Rum or crazy varnish whiskey, sugar. Regular one is grainy body, roast, thinner with still oat creaminess. OA one is little carbonation, varnish boozy, bit thin. OA one is bit of a hack job in my opinion. Not a fan. 3.8 for the Regular version. 3.2 for OA version.
