Cloudy copper/red colour. Aroma of berries, sour. Extremely acidic, with a bit of fruit, and little complexity.

Poured from 750mL bottle (2016 vintage). Cloudy dull orange with minimal white head. Lots of raspberry on the nose. Taste is mild raspberry and funk, a bit mild, maybe oxidized a bit on the taste. Okay.

750ml shared with Phill (thx, man, for the beer!) and the gang @ Matt's new place. Appearance: hazy copper with a white head. Aroma: a little bit acidity, lots of raspberries. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: pretty good for Crooked Stave in general and for the 2016 bottle in particular.

2016 vintage. 750mL bottle, pours a cloudy muddled dark reddish amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is complex and funky, with lots of wild yeast, tart but faded raspberries, and oak. Flavour has moderately acidic, tart raspberries, some wild bugs, and a touch of oak. A bit too acidic, but this has held up well. Good stuff.

Taster at Spuyten Duyvil during Zwanze. Reddish clear color, very small head. Smells raspberry juice, jammy light sweetness. Very nice smell. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes of Raspberries, jammy, grassy, herbal, citric earthy. Finishes dry and medium sour with notes of Raspberries, citric and lactic notes. Very nice one, smooth, but overall rather on the sour side. 8,4,7,3,15

Sample at The Source during the "GABF Release: Mama Bear's Sour Cherry Pie" event on 10/05/2017. The beer is a bright purplish-red color with a medium pinkish-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of oak, tart berry, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of tart raspberry, oak, yeast and bready malt. The finish is tart and oaky with a raspberry and citrus aftertaste. Good beer overall.
