One of our very first beers with a recipe essentially unchanged ever since the first brew.
A classic, robust London style porter – with our own twist. Smooth and full-bodied, bursting with aromas of dark, bitter chocolate, and roasted coffee. Brewed with 100% British ingredients, East Kent Goldings Hops and an array of seven different malts.
While in stock and enjoyed throughout the year, it’s in the colder, wintery months when Railway Porter really hits the spot. Grab a pint, sit back, and enjoy.

Cask, Liverpool Craft Beer Expo, Camp & Furnace. Deep dark brown looks with a small tan head. Roasted malt, soy and chocolate nose. The sweetish flavour had notes of coffee, smoke, malts and more choc. Verges on thin territory but overall not too shabby.

330ml bottle. Real black colour with ruby red glimmer and small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of cappuccino, mocha, white coffee, cream. Taste is roasty dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, mocha, coffee, a herbal, spicy touch. Nice coffee mixture.

Towering rust/tan head, utterly stable and leaving lacerings over virtually black beer with some redbrown highlights. Roasted, burnt, sweet to burnt/bitter caramel. Lightly sweet, mainly roasted flavour. Lots of malts, more than this ABV would warrant. Retronasal coffee, which is strangely absent in the nose. Hints at charcoal, even. Feels better bodied than it probably is. Well-carbonated, slick to viscous feel. Not bad, just not outstanding enough.

[ As Five Points Railway Porter ].Clear dark black brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dark roasted, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, coffee, dark roasted, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140417] 7-4-8-3-15 Bottle 330ml. [ As Five Points Railway Porter ].Unclear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee, strong coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, malt bitter, dry, coffee, dark roasted. Bottle. A clear looking dark brown beer with a light tan head of moderate size. The aroma has lots of dark chocolate and coffee, it’s almost mocha-ish, with some nougat and caramel. It’s medium bodied and soft on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Roasted malts, caramel and a solid dose of coffee and dark chocolate in the flavor, with a good bitterness chiming in. Lasting roasted finish with chocolate and coffee. A bit roasted, almost burnt this one, but at least it’s tasteful. 140927
