Don’t ever call a Roman Lager just another Pilsner beer. Because this mild and pleasant thirst-quencher has a fruity nose. The mildly malty attack transitions into a slightly bitter finish. We have been brewing this beer in our coppers since 1945.

(Bottle) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of crisp-bread, citrus peel and herbs. Malty taste with bread, honey, citrus peel, a touch of apricots and a mild herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Crisp and clean, but not really exciting. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle 25cl. @home poured into a stem glass. Colour clear pale golden, good frothy white head, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Aroma pilsner malt, grain, grassy hops. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, grain, grass, iron notes. Medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, rather clean, slightly more bitter, still some iron notes, acceptable.

Draught, half pint. @Belgian Beer Weekend 2022, Grand Place Brussels (Belgium). 04/09/2022 [#5.347 Global - #187 Belgium - #3 Brouwerij Roman] Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma: grass, spiced malts and brown bread. Taste: corn, spiced malts and yeast. Light and grainy. Next one please!

Appearance: clear gold with a moderate white frothy head of medium retention. Aroma: malt, bread, grass. Taste: light sweet, light to medium bitter. Malt, bread, grass . Mouth feel: medium minus body, average carbonation. Overall: acceptable.
