Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is big citrus hop, pine needle. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a big citrus nettle hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Small if stable, whipped eggwhite-like head, fed by lively carbonated clear orange-golden beer. Very citrussy nose with tangerine and grapefruit, rosewater and candied citruszeste. Bitter, fresh hopflavour, rootspices, dough. Again citruspeel - without the candy here. Really bitter finish, long-lasting. Medium bodied, oily-slick; well carbonated. Rather unidimensional palate. OK, nothing special as IPA’s go.

"Northwest IPA" with irregular, creamy, yellowish white head and lightly hazy, light orange robe. Beguiling but quite ’dry’ IPA aroma, dry-hopped and dryishly citrussy, with impressions of hemp, dried orange peel, tangelo, overripe peach, mango, earth, salty old cheese, raw steak, bitter honey, hint of chicken soup, hazelnut oil, stale sweat, overripe mango, wet hay. Taste begins fairly neutral, vivid fruitiness alright, but less sweet and exotic than I got used to from American IPAs, minerally, fresh pineapple slices, dried apricot, redcurrant; sourish and faintly but still relatively prevalent salty touch, nutty and toasted biscuit malt background, hoppiness setting in quite rapidly and elegantly increasing towards the end, herbal, subtly citrussy (at least more subtle than most double IPAs), peppery, long, paired with persisting minerally saltiness enhanced by the hops as well as a weak lingering toasted maltiness. Perfectly fine American-style IPA, probably not the best I ever had in this particular style, but delivering alright. I guess having crossed the Atlantic and having spent some time (at least months) in some cellar has reduced a considerable amount of its vivid ’citrusness’ and has increased its ’cheesiness’ - but I can’t bother, I simply enjoyed this. Pleasant beer, makes me happy.

12 oz bottle poured at home. Had to give this one a try since I am so fond of their other IPA work. Pours a bright orange gold color with a big sweet and piney aroma. Nice, semi sweet flavor with a creamy body to it. Has a little orange slices flavor. Refreshing. Finishes with some nice hoppiness to bit, but not bitter. Great IPA. Impressed with these guys so far.
