Full in body, this copper strong ale releases aromas of caramel, dark & dried fruits and sweet malts, balanced by noble european hops.

Bottle 330ml.Clear medium to dark amber - brown red colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dusty malt, light roasted, moderate hoppy, dry grass - dusty grass, moderate to light heavy alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dusty, fruity, caramel, sweet fruity malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small cream - tan coloured head. Palate is smooth with fine carbonation. Sweetish malt and yeast. Belgian tang. Trace of coca cola and generic sweet fruits. Finishes smooth.

Gushing to smallish yellow-cream head over quite carbonated cola-coloured beer. End of bottle solid yeast. Yeasty smell, wood, chocolate, treacle; faintly resiny. Bitter-sweet flavour, faintly spicy, again chocolate; bit wry, and again very yeast-intoned. The dark malts and melanoidins seem to be very forgiving here, and lend some balance. Alcohol is obvious; liquorice, especially warming up, with also a raisins’ flavour. Not really full-bodied but quite some slickness, despite the overcarbonation. Better than most Gaverhopke brews. Seems the dark malts+ alcohol set some things right.

Bottle, 10.7%. Dark amber with small beige head. Aroma is malt, yeast, caramel, dark fruits, little dusty and plume. Flavour is malt, fruit, yeast, sweet, toasted, toffee and a little candy sugar.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty and caramelish. Sweet, caramelish and light alcohol presence. Bitter and dry roasted malty. Bitter and dry finish. Too bitter for a quad, more a barley wine by US types.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are rich fruits, malt, dried fruits, syrup, caramel and hops. Sweet finish and full bodied with medium carbonation.
