Lambic is one of the world's oldest beers. According to some, it is also the best, even if its characteristic acidity does not please all palates. To offset this acidity, some decided to add sugar to it. Thus Faro Lambic was born. Adding sugar syrup to lambic was a revelation at the time of Bruegel. Until the 19th century, Faro Lambic was very prevalent in the Brussels region. Folklore there was frequently associated with it, and the divine liquid flowed like water. Then Faro Lambic fell into oblivion. It was not until 1978 that our family brought it back to centre stage. Or centre Senne, as you prefer. Particularly appreciated after physical exertion, Faro Lambic is not only easy to drink, it is a joy to do so.

355 ml corked bottle. Bright copper red color. Small creamy beige head. Sharp yeasty malt nose. Earthy, flowery notes. Sweet candylike sour malt flavor. A hint of barnyard funk comes through in middle. Charismatic and unique. A Belgian gem.

Barwa miedziana, zamglone, piana zabrudzonej bieli, umiarkowanie obfita, dość szybko znika. W aromacie jabłko, białe wino, bretty. W smaku półsłodkie, niska do umiarkowanej kwaśność, nieco brettów, nuty winno-jabłkowe. Wysycenie w normie, ciało średnie, pijalne, nieco tanin po przełknięciu. Pomimo sporej słodyczy jest też w miarę solidna kwaśność i dzikość, niektóre owocowe lambiki wydają się przez to słodsze.

Bottle from drinkshop.sk My first contact with faro and honestly this sweetness is hell of a surprise. This is accompanied by light sourness. Tastes like a a sour candy or something. It's okay I guess.

Bottle. Amber/orange/gold with a decent white head. Some lacing. Aroma of hay and a basement filled with old apples and opened bottles of white wine. Taste is old apples, resin and sugar. Long lasting sugary finish with hints of salt. Strong carbonation. Refreshing and spritzy. I am by no means an expert in the fields of Faro but this one was way too sweet for my tastes. Still ok though.

Keg at De Klomp, Linköping. Clear copper colour, mid sized creamy head. Candi sugar meets mild citric acid and horriblankets. Mildly sweet with an acidic touch. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Horriblankets, cobwebs, lemon and sugar. Low bitterness. Sugar lifts the flavours, but reduces drinkability - but I like it.

250ml bottle at home. Pours brown amber with an off white top. Aroma: candy sugar sweetness, apples, grapes, wood. Taste: moderate sweet, candy sugar, lightly acidic, caramel, woody notes, tiny hint of funk. Medium bodied, light carb, semi dry finish. Easy drinking entry level lambic
