American Double IPA

Single Malt and Single Hop Double IPA, brewed with only Australian Galaxy hops and Premium Northwest Pilsner Malt. The Galaxy hops take center stage and are joined by the very intense bitterness typical of this variety of hops.

Flavor
A balanced aroma gives intense passion fruit, light guava, and herbal notes similar to thyme, and hints of exotic citrus. The hop aroma is balanced by light honey notes that are characteristically associate with the malt of a crisp Pilsner. The flavor has an initial rush of tropical fruit and herbal notes that linger intensely. The Galaxy hops take center stage, and after several seconds, the juicy hop notes are joined by the very intense bitterness typical of this Australian variety.

Ingredients
SMaSH Galaxy starts with our glacier-fed water from the Juneau Icefield and our exclusive ale yeast that is a hallmark of the Alaskan style. From there, the ingredient list is short: Australian Galaxy hops and Premium Northwest Pilsner Malt.

Nice double ipa - in the mild side of doubles - not overly bitter, subtle and simple

Oh, how do I think about this terrible anticipation. You know what its gonna be from the start, with its thick rich golden look to its volatile dull sweet heavy hop nose. Why do I punish myself with this terrible rubbery taste? So big, so bad, so large, so in charge, whew. Cannot even stomach the rude ass sensation it produces as it glides down my throat. Big, nasty, blubbering, nuisance, brashfully, nehggish. It certainly is rough, fer sher. Towards the end it becomes a cross between kerosene and some other unidentifiable else. What a bitchen bastard. Warms up the tip of my tongue in the end with some spicy heat, or is it the alky content? Who knows?

On Tap at PreFunk Boise Hazy deep orange with a thin soapy off white head Light fruity hop aroma. Mostly light pale malts and a littel cereal sweetness. Lacking the big up front fresh hop flavors. Just OK

12 oz bottle from a six pack bought at Winco. Aroma of chalky candy, cantaloupe, caramel, biscuity, bready. Pours hazy sunny golden with a one finger bone white head with decent retention and a little lace. Taste is highly bitter with a little caramel malt sweetness--I thought it would be more malty given the aroma. Flavors of pine, citrus, grapefruit pith, grain, light caramel and bready malt. Nice beer, but doesn't really stand out from all the other West Coast style DIPAs out there.

Single hop Galaxy DIPA. Lightly hazy gold beer, good white head. Palate is smooth, airy, mildly dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Light sweetish malts, light floralness. Mild hop spice. Mellow Galaxy fruit salad and tropical fruits. Light pine on the finish. Nice but could be a lot punchier with the hops.
