Dobry Porter, tradycyjny, palony, dośc mocno jak na portera, lekka słodycz (chyba lukrecja) sie wyczuwa. Wspaniale sie uzupelniaja te dwa przeciwstawne smaki. Zapach palonego slodu unosil sie nad piana, ktora byla mocna i trala i zbina drobnoziarnista. Kolor machoniowo-brunatny

Bottle. Pours clear dark ruby with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel. Bitter, hoppy and malty taste with some subtle notes of roasted beans in the finish. Rather watery mouthfeel. OK but nothing revolutionary.

Draft at De Paas. Pours clear brown with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, tobacco, light roasted, dark fruits and light coffee. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

0.5l bottle. So strange these St. Peter bottles. Who came up with the idea to make them like this anyway? It pours a clear deep dark ruby body with a medium sized bubbly beige head that's leaving some lacings down the glass. Smells really nice this one. I get chocolate paper, cocoa, light roasted malts, dark malts and a dark caramel sweetness with tones of wood and dark fruits. Took me a bit off guard, and I really like it. In the taste it feels a bit thin and watery with coffee, soft chocolate, dark malts, some dry cardboard, watery licorice and honey. Light caramel sweet also, and a soft dry chocolate finish ending with a mild bitterness and a hint of acidity. Not bad at all, but the aroma was stunningly nice and definitely memorable. 05.09.2012

500ml bottle. Clear dark brown colour with small, frothy, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally roasty, slightly sweet, dark malty aroma with a decent touch off coffee and chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, minimally roasty, even sweeter in the finish.

Very dark brown color with soft carbonation. Sweet malts with something roasted in it. It has little bitterness. Mouthfeel is dry. It’s nice example of the style and a highly drinkable beer

New style green 500ml bottle, best before late May 2008, drank on a very cold (for the Uk) Friday afternoon in late Jan 2008. Poured into a Gordon Xmas tulip shaped glass (twice). Deep, deep ruby red, or the darkest maroon ever, topped with a good browny biege head. Rich liquorice smell, dark toffee, treacle and molasses. Some burnt toast aroma in the nose as well. I was expecting a richer, warmer, roastier taste than the beer gave. The aroma hinted of great things to come, sadly they didn’t appear in the drinking taste area. An average Porter at best. The beer wasn’t watery, but it lacked that body/muscle/heart a good Porter possesses. It is a pleasant drink, but only that, a pleasant drink.

Bottle at home in London, shared with Mom! Pours clear, red-brown with a very creamy, light tan head. Aroma of dark malts, subtle roast, light cocoa. Light to medium sweet flavor, some leafy bitterness, light booze, some very faint burnt cocoa. Medium bodied with average, smooth and creamy carbonation. Light bitter chocolate finish, toasty bread, dark sugar, faint grass, light acidic cocoa. A decent beer overall, though the character doesn’t grab me.
