Surprisingly good IPA. I was skeptical at first, but the bitter citrusy notes of the IPA go well together with the smokiness. The rye also gives it a very nice, velvety texture.

33cl bottle at Apelsini Raudtee, Tallinn. Pours close to clear orange with a white head. Surprisingly smoky aroma with fruity notes, hints of citrus, pale malt and hints of bread and herbs. Moderate sweet with with smoke dominating the flavour, followed by hops and then a fairly bitter finish. Certainly different and quite a tasty - the best smoked IPA I’ve tried so far!

From a 330ml bottle on 20/11/2015. Pours a deep opaque golden with a small head. The nose is very smoky - bacon an salmon immediately come to mind. The taste starts out with lots of sweet citrus and stone fruit, light smoke, and finishes with a big, sticky rye bitterness. There’s a really nice sweet/bitter contrast with this. Full bodied with modest carbonation. This is the first smoked IPA I’ve had and damn the combo actually works beautifully. Very unusual and really enjoyable.

Langer, bitterer Nachhall. Sehr schön gemacht.

Bottle from 100 piv. You can clearly smell the smoke in this one right away. Mixing interestingly with fruity exotic and citrusy hoppiness. Hazy orange colour. In taste it is nice to see how 10% smoked malt is enough to add a clear and distinct rauch element to an otherwise classic spicy fruity rye IPA. Interestingly they blend seemingly well, rounded impression. Rather full bodied, Somehow retains the good from both styles - full body and pleasant beechwood smoke flavour and the easy drinkability with crisp hoppy flavours of a rye IPA. Very good.
