0.33 l bottle from Firma Bier, best before march 2016. Clear, golden orange with a medium large, foamy, stable, tan to white head. Intense, smoky-fruity aroma of campfire, charcoal, mango, tangerine and papaya. Sweetish, fruity-smoky taste of campfire, charcoal, honey, mango, papaya and tangerine, followed by a medium long, medium bitter and smoky finish. Medium body, effervescent and very creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice balance between smoke and fruits, underlined by a fantastic creaminess and honeyish sweetness. Very delicious stuff, absolutely harmonic and convincing. Great style, great beer!

Tap at In De Wildeman. Hazy orange-amber color, good cloudy off-white head. Aroma has smoke, wet wood and light hops and yeast. Medium-bodied. Smokey, some rye but soft palate. Late spicey bitterness. Interesting, well-brewed but not something you would drink all night.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21B, adapted). Bottle 33 cl - Batch A. AROMA: a blend of smoked malt aroma with hop notes (pine and resin and some tropical fruit). balance a bit towards the smoked malt. APPEARANCE: ambar color and hazy. average moussy ivory head with average retention. TASTE: hop flavours of tropical nature (green mango) and some pine, with a restrained smoked malt background. high bitterness that lasts beyond an almost dry finish. PALATE: medium body with a slight texture. medium carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: an interesting combination but is it worth it?

Quite hazy amber colored, minimal white head, after some time only lacing. Aroma is smoked wood and sweet citrus fruits. Taste is moderate sweet malt, caramel, (moderate) smoked malt, wood, bit of rye, citrus and less floral hops near the finish with some moderate bitterness (more bitter than hoppy) in the finish but a more lasting aftertaste. Medium to full bodied and quite thick (thickness will be the reason I’ll remember this one) and syrupy. Low carbonation.

Pours amber with a large lasting head.Nose shows soft meaty smoked malt along side some spicy and herbal hops.Flavours pretty much mirror the aroma but with a bit more emphasis on the smoked malt and spicy rye.

A brown and slightly orange colour, a head is weak and blond. Looked at full bodied when poured to glass, slow bubbling. The aroma is personal, some tropical fruits, smoke, fructose, feels quite sweet. The aroma is totally weird but still quite interesting. Taste is also quite unique. Smoked malts, spices from rye, some fruits, quite mild bitterness, not too sweet. Strong bodied, as the apperance promises, low carbonation. Weird as mentioned many times. Rye is also quite strong. Not very balanced. Recommendations for the personal beer’s lovers.
