Farmhouse Ales were brewed for the diligent farmhands who drew the short straw and had to work the arduous harvest. Our brewmaster’s expression blends the spiciness of a Farmhouse Ale with the tartness of a Flanders Red for a remarkably refreshing finish.

Malts: Caramel Malt Pale Malt, European Abbey Malt, European Acidulated Malt, Chocolate Malt, Malted White Wheat
Hops: Spalt Select, Czech Saaz
Our Twist: White Pepper, Coriander, Hibiscus

Drank from the bottle at a party. Better than expected, it tasted like a tart, red ale with some Belgian yeastiness thrown in.

Bottle. Metallic malt aroma. Amber with moderate head. Sweet tart cherry/hibisucus malt flavor. Decent body. Okay - decent for a Blue Moon beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a fruity malt and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with sweet fruit and light spice finish. Decent

Bottle/Short Straw. Extremely light toasty berry aroma. Clear deep copper with a large yellow ivory head. Toasty malt with some light berry and spice flavor. Light body and carbonation. Relatively bland and unexciting.

Bottled as "Short Straw". Pours clear blood orange into a shaker. White head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Bread and caramel aromas. Soft with sour apple, roasted nuts upfront turning to a medium-length sourdough toast finish. Meh.

A little spiciness with yeast and sugar. Not sour, or wild. I don’t know what they were thinking, people who want a Farmhouse beer expect something that is not this under-flavored mess.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours clear copper with very small off-white head. Very little lacing, low carbonation, medium body, and light caramel malt aroma. Taste is nice caramel malt, some floral hops, and light floral hop finish.

Pour is more of a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is like the Blue Moon wit. Some orange peel, yeast and cereal. Flavor is more orange peel and spice. Some pepper shows up after the swallow. Finish is just a bit watery. Don’t know if this is a saison but I can’t really tell what category to put it in. It’s decent enough for a sample.
