Pours a clean deep amber colour with a creamy-foamy off-white head that stays quite a long time for an impy. Lacing is pretty good too. Aromas of grassy hops, sweet roasted malts and fruity notes. The roasted malts really come out in the taste with the grass blending things. Mild dryness that gets stronger as the hop lingers. A milder, well-balanced Impy IPA than most, that is not trying to be a hop-bomb.

What’s up with the dry IPA’S today, ah well fine I’ll say something on this.
Into a tulip, the appearance is a ruddy orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated in about a minute. Some speckled lacing comes across in mild and messy sort of way.
The smell started off with a roasty to somewhat burnt caramel aroma and only as it warmed there was some light citrus but for the most part, even that really stayed in the background.
The taste was mainly sweet through the caramel malts. The citrus ends up escaping a bit on the taste.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed somewhat subdued and lead to a really dry effect on my tongue.
Overall, this is a dry roasty caramel DIPA, does it fit the style...hmmm...maybe...would I have it again...hmm...maybe as a night cap.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, West Seneca, NY. Amber with a ring of white head; aroma of fresh hops and caramel; citrusy taste - perhaps red grapefruit - and quite full-bodied; with a clean spicy finish. A well made IPA.

Bottle: Poured a bright yellow/orangey color ale with a nice thick white foamy head with good retention and some great lacing. Aroma of citrus notes is quite nice with some residual sugar notes noticeable. Taste is also dominated by citrus notes with fresh floral notes that are somewhat offset by too much residual sugar. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice IIPA but I would ay that there is too much residual sugar for my own personal taste.

(650mL bottle from LCBO) Pours a clear medium amber with a moderate, tight white head that lingers and leaves lace. Aroma is heavy on caramel and golden sugar, hops seem restrained/faded with weak pine resin and a hint of orange flesh and something vaguely tropical. On the palate, again malt-forward, bit of caramel and dough, but at least there are relatively more hops than nose; pine resin again along with a little citrus zest, floral notes, slight woodsy/peppery spice too? Fairly bitter and dry on the finish despite the malty character - more like a bitter IPA than a big DIPA though. Moderate alcohol heat for 8ish% abv. Mouthfeel moderate but oily, soft carb. I don’t think this beer is that fresh, but it’s a bit too malt heavy and the hop character is not really punchy or inspiring compared to local DIPAs (ex GLB, Bellwoods). The bar is a lot higher in ON now.

Bottle. A- Grapefruit, citrus, soapy, piney, floral. A- Amber color, clear liquid, white head. T- Citrus, bitter, piney. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, lingering finish. O- A very lovely aroma with lots of tropical citrus and floral. The taste is the same but the pine and bitterness is more pronounced and you get less of the citrus on the tongue. Overall, this one was a lot smoother and more refreshing than I was expecting it to be.

Hazy light orange with a decent head. Some hop aroma bit a bit stale and cardboardish. Fairly bitter not very big for an imperial or for 8.5% OK for a macro-micro

Bottle: Poured an amber with a finger frothy off white head. Aroma is a mix of hops and sweet malts. Taste is floral hops with a sweet malt balance, not harsh for an DIPA.

22oz bottle thanks to ditmier. Pours out a amber topped with a sand head. Nose is citrus hops bread malts and some pine. Taste is as the nose with lots of hops along with a good malt balance. $3or4 talk about a good deal.
