Innocent yet beguiling, this hazy golden brew appears to be a classic wittier with its bright notes of orange citrus & coriander, but there’s a bit more mischief up its sleeve. Behind its sweet exterior lies an intriguing blend of white sage and rye for an earthly, spicy, and thoroughly refreshing brew.

12 oz bottle from the summer variety pack bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Pours hazy cantaloupe with a medium white collapsing head. Aroma is citrusy, sage is strong, caramel. Taste is sweet and a bit spicy. Mouthfeel is creamy, carbonation high, body medium. Not bad.

Bottle pour to shaker. Hazy pale yellow; heavy sage aroma; flavor had too much potpourri for my taste.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Rodman's, 4/20/13
Aroma: The aroma is very rye, with a pretty big spice component, and some citrus as well
Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow-golden color with a white head and some lace
Flavor: The taste has a lot of spice and rye, with some citrus sweetness, and mild bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, and it has an alright feel, but not a great one
Overall Impression: I actually found this one to be pretty interesting. I liked the way the rye and spice components worked here even though they ended up dominating the rest of the components. Still, this was a decent beer, but not a standout.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold with a half finger of off-white head. Aroma of coriander and orange citrus. Taste is lightly bitter. The rye spice really comes out along with the coriander and orange citrus. Full bodied with a creamy texture. Lively, mouth-filling carbonation and a very long rye-spice finish. Overall, really good. Not what i was expecting but i would absolutely buy a 6er of this.

Pours hazy yellow-gold with a tall, dense, off-white head. Aroma is sage, orange...malt. Taste is not exactly sweet, but not exactly bitter either....a litttle rye, sage mild leather, spice. Nicely different and tasty.

12oz bottle. Slightly hazy orange-tan body. Thin, steady creamy mini head. Interesting zesty sage in the aroma. Not really much rye to speak of, but I guess the huge perfumey herbal tones kind of cover it up. Lemony soulless herbs. Another beer that would have been better without the gimmicky adjuncts.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium sized white head. Decent head retention. Big spicy rye aroma along with thyme and other herbal notes. The taste is pale malts, sage and rye. Light bodied. I could use a little more balance here as the spice dominates.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large whtie head. Aroma is maybe a little citrus and a odd herbal essence. Flavor is more of a wheat with more of the herbs and very little to almost none of the spicy rye I was expecting. The one offs in the Sam Adams samplers are usually above par. These 2 were dissappointing.

Pours a slightly hazed light gold into a Sam glass. White head with little retention recedes leaving scant sheets to hug rim. Caramel, rye and sage aromas. Sharp with metallic sage upfront turning to rye in the lasting bitter spice finish.
