Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a clear reddish brown with a dissipating light brown head. Some vanilla and coffee in the nose. Medium body, dryish, chocolate accents and again quite some coffee - but never heavily roasted or burned. But quite pleasant and easygoing - if somewhat light. 160513

A nice coffee porter, the label on this beer describes the taste.

Draft at Monk’ Pub. Kind of an oblique toast to a Pope from Argentina. Black pour with a 1-finger tan head. Distinct brewed coffee aroma, not too bitter. But the coffee in the actual taste is a bit more bitter, or perhaps it’s the hops talking. There is some roast on the palate, but it’s rather "patient," waiting to sneak up on you. Not a lot of alcohol, but it is still presented for your appreciation.

Picked up at AZ Wine a couple months back. 12oz bottle pours deep dark brown with a decent enough looking mocha head. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, earthy sort of roasted coffee beans and then a mild sweet note in the background. The taste has plenty of dark roasted malts to burnt malts with layers of dark roasted coffee too. This is nice and roasty with mild sort of earthiness thinly ringing the experience.

Bottle thanks to fata2683: Poured a midnight black with two finger tan to light brown head. Aroma is strong with rich bakers chocolate and mild coffee. Taste is nice soft chocolate, some burnt roasted malt, and just a hint of coffee.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best by 4/27/2011. Pours very dark brown, almost black color with a nice 2 finger light tan head with good retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some decent lacing clings to the glass as you drink. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, coffee, toasted grain, bread, and a touch of herbal hops. Nice and well balanced aromas with good strength. Taste of big espresso, chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, biscuit, toffee, and herbal hops. Fair amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and herbal hops on the finish for a bit. Nice balance of flavors. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Very smooth and drinkable at 6.2%, with not alcohol presence at all. Overall this is a very nice porter, with nice robust flavors and very smooth drinking. Really enjoyed this one.
