Batch 19 is derived from a recipe found in an old logbook discovered in brewery archives dating back before 1919, when Prohibition banned beer throughout the country. Prohibition was enforced in Colorado in 1916. The pre-Prohibition style lager delivers a bold, hoppy flavor that is surprisingly well balanced.

Bottle at a Famous Dave’s barbecue, Sterling VA. Golden in colour with moderate fizziness. Gluggable lager with a hint of hop and decent, bitter finish. Ok.

Meh! Nothing special here. Coors once again pretending to be something other than a macrobrew. Bland and uninteresting. Darker than normal for a lager, but aroma and taste are weak malt. Small creamy head but all else is average.

Bottle from local store. Poured a fizzy amber color with a small white head. Aroma was notes of light, sweet grains, some light yeast and a touch of earthy hops. Flavor was sweet grains, light notes. A bit thin, but servicable. If this is what their regular Coors/light tasted like, I wouldn’t cringe when offered one at parties. --- Beer merged from original tick of Batch 19 (2010-2015) on 30 Oct 2013 at 22:38 - Score: 4. Original review text: Eh, whatever.

Bottle: Copper pour, translucent, small white head is gone quick... skunky lager aroma for an initial impression that becomes a little more grassy and bready as it warms. A bit metallic. Lager malt and grass flavors... finishes sharply, borderline abrasive. Not something I’d drink again.

Bottle 355ml @ Hotel Room, Hotel Whitcomb, San Francisco, CA
Pours clear golden with white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grass, floral. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with a grassy bitter finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 12oz. It pours a clear body, golden in color, and with a finger-thick white head. Quite pleasant aroma, with some piney, grassy and lightly flowery hops and a pleasant maltyness. The flavor too is quite pleasant, although it could use a tad more hops for bittering. Medium body, very soft on the carbonation. Bitter and fruity finish with a little touch of pale malts. Overall, certainly a nice surprise, hope lots of Americans discover this and understand that they have been fooled since the prohibition. 130804

On tap at the Mountain Brewers Festival 2013. The best time to rate these brews is at festivals when it’s easy and at no additional cost. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. Earthy, some caramel, low bitterness, quite smooth. Big malty background and light caramel. Pretty nice really.

Pour is a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy with some sweet malt. Flavor is more of the sweet malt but an decent amount of hops show up after the swallow. A Sam Adams Boston lager clone although not as hop forward.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden-amber color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy with hints of bread an citrus. The flavor was sweet, tangy and bready with faint citrus and faint notes of perfume and medicine. Medium length sweet tangy and perfumey finish with a hint of butterscotch coming out at the very end. Medium body. Not very impressive.

Clear deep gold body under a tall, long lasting mostly white head. Sweet bisquity malt aroma. Sweet malt profile with enough underlying hop bitterness to balance. Not that bad of a beer actually.
