Een rijk en verwarmend bier voor de donkere dagen. Zoetige mout en kandij suiker met tonen van karamel en zoethout. Vrij lange, kruidige afdronk.

A bit smokey, malty, and fruity. Right up my alley. Same as a year ago.

Pours a dark amber/brown color, hazy, and topped with a fine beige colord head. Malty aroma, caramel presence, a bit of yeasty notes and spices as well. Taste follows what you smell. Sweet start, a bit yeasty and quite malty, some caramel presence. Quite filling, mild bitterness and some alcohol feel. Pretty average for my liking, actually.

This was poured into a corsendonk tulip.
The appearance was a dark hazy burnt brown color with a one finger soft white lush foamy head. As it dissipated, light stringy lacing sticks to the glass.
The smell starts off with a big apple aroma leading into Belgian sugar sweetness and dark fruits. Light Belgian spices round out the aroma nicely.
The taste was mainly sweet with a thorough spicy effect from the Belgian side of the house. There’s no aftertaste nor finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a sessionable to sipping quality about it. Carbonation comes across pretty subdued with a grainy feel surrounding my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good Belgian Strong Dark ale that I would have again. Looking forward to having this again around Christmas.

Marrón oscura, muy bonita. Dos dedos de espuma cremosa y ocre. Agradable aroma malteado. Mantiene en boca, pero ya con mucho más. Picante, especiada. Chocolate. Bastante carbónica. Y con un calorcito alcohólico que envuelve todo y te acompaña en el postgusto. Notable.

Dark brown, ruby hue, weak beige lasting head. Aroma is of brown sugar, spice, coriander and strong on orange peel, a bit of alcohol present in the nose. Taste is medium sweet malt, brown sugar, spices - cinnamon, coriander, orange, some dark fruits, Belgian yeast, some toasted malt and a bit of chocolate in the finish and aftertaste. Medium bodied with a very pleasant aftertaste.
