Bottle. Medium amber colour with a thin head. The aroma is mostly toasty with a little bit of caramel. The taste is very toasty, fresh and with whole grain notes. Not bad.

Clear amber body with a sticky mostly white head. Very light malt aroma, no hops. The flavor is slight malt sweetness with enough hop bitterness to balance but not enough hops to get any flavor from them. Easy drinking, refreshing, unremarkable beer.

Well my first pass at this beer, I was thirsty and wanted a beer more than anything. After rushing to pour this into a shaker, I overpoured and it foamed up, so I chugged the remaining 4oz out of the bottle, finding it crisp, clean and refreshing caramelized amber lager. However, after settling down and having 2 bottles worth, from the glass, I found it to be not as pleasant. Caramel malts tended toward a strange tartness, the hops were herbal and mushroomy, mossy in the finish. Fair palate, somewhat creamy and soft. Copper color, plenty of foamy head.

Aroma of canned peas. Clear copper, thin yellow head. Powdery mouthfeel. Earthy barley malt flavor. The taint of canned peas lingers. Flavorful, but dirtry and unclean for a lager, even a vienna. Poor quality.

Trader Joe’s, DC six-pack ($7): Pours an amber color with an off-white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of lager yeast, grass, and malt. Taste has a caramel tinge to it. Pretty light bodied. Minimal hops, if they are there at all. Bready. Not really much to it, but it seems easy enough to session with. Maybe it’s still too deep in the winter to really enjoy a spring beer.
