A dark amber lager with a thin off white head. A light nutty herbal aroma, again, a bit grainy and light caramel notes. In mouth, a smooth lightly sweetish malt, with mineral notes, very nutty and grassy, medium bodied. Tasted at CNY brewfest, Feb. 6 2010.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-amber color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma was sweet toasted caramel with a light fruity undertone. The flavor was tangy, sweet and faintly bitter with light notes of nut, caramel and fruit and a hint of smoke. Medium finish and medium body. Pleasant.

Very hazy deep amber coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, yeast, nuts, caramel, toffee, raisins and a touch of figs - odd for the style. Medium-bodied; Sharp pungent nutty flavours with some odd lingering malt and caramel with some dryness and not much else - odd and very mild. Aftertaste, potent, dry, bitter, not too pleasant. Overall, a pretty bad offering from a not-so-great brewery. Worth passing up unless you like unbalanced and bland lagers that don;t taste like they should...and if you do - you probably aren’t on this site. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, DC on 15-February-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 20-February-2010.

Bottle. Sudsy head over a golden body with aromas of grass, lemon, some faint honey and a little dough. This is pretty light on the palate, with crisp grass and lemon and a bready malt presence. Pretty decent for the style.

12 oz. bottle, $9/sixpack at Binny’s. Sweet, rich malty smell under the cap. Pours amber with a yellowing head that doesn’t fill up half the glass like other beers; or maybe my glass is finally "beer clean." Smell from glass is of a bit of caramel malt, Hops are just slightly flowery here, nice. Taste is quite tickly. Some spices or even herbs; they don’t say any of those were added, so presumably from hops and the ferment. More interesting version of a Vienna. Bubbly carbonation all the way through, and a bit of lace on the sides of the glass.

Pours light amber into a lager glass. White head recedes to hug rim. Sour caramel aromas. Astringent with sweet fruit upfront turning to a dry sour caramel finish.

Hazy lite brown. Soapy smell at first. Then goes candy sweet on olfactory. Soap carries over to first taste and then it morphs into a smokey background. oily soapy palate, almost like an ale. Quite rude at times even tho my drinken buddy likes this unique stuff. Yes, discerningly malt, choco carab.

Pour is a cloudy brown with a large foamy white head. Aroma is very grainy with a lot of caramel malt following. Flavor is some burnt malt with a bit of toffee and caramel. Pretty spot on for the style and holy crap a decent one by magic hat!
