Waag je gerust aan deze romige Hollandse stout: 6% alcohol, zwart als de koffie waar het naar smaakt, met de herkenbare smaken van geroosterd brood en chocolade. En toch is het een èchte Stout; met een bitterheid onttrokken aan Engelse hop en geroosterde gerst, zoals het hoort.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy very dark copper brown with stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and coffee. Bitter, roasty flavour, with notes of liquorice and an unpleasant metallic component. Lingering metallic finish. Not as good as I had expected.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein schwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Schokolade. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, angenehm cremig, schokoladig, erdig.

(bottle, 33cl) Darkest brown colour with a beige mid-sized foamy head. Moderately roasty malty, slightly milky aroma with notes of chocolate, espresso, liquorice and iodine. Roasty bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Roasty and slightly earthy malt-character with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, herbal spots and traces of coffee; a bit slim roasty bitter and delicately sweet malty finish with notes of chocolate and hints of coffee in the aftertaste. bottle, kindly donated by jaghana! Deep black, brown-beige head. Cocoa powder, dark (very dark) chocolate and freshly ground espresso - all in a bottle. Good.

donker bruin-zwart met matige bruine kraag aroma: koffie, chocolade, gebrande en geroosterde mouten, donkere mouten smaken: droog, as, geroosterde en gebrande mouten, lichte chocolade, matig zoet, redelijk bitter, zwakke en bovendien wat waterige body, laag co2, niet zo bijzonder eigenlijk. --- Beer merged from original tick of Diesel on 15 May 2018 at 21:39 - Score: 6

Bottled. More or less pitch black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head that leaves good lace. Aroma is quite strongly hopped with some toffee, cow shit and some ashes and roasted malts. Flavour is mild roasted malts, some quite biting bitterness (flavourwise mellow and nice for the stout though) with also some slight ripe fruitiness. Surprisingly it’s got a bit thin palate for being 6 %, but otherwise it’s quite cool.

Personal contribution @ "I cannot believe that you brought your own beer to a beer festival" @ Modeste 2013. 33 cl. bottle sampled. Blackish, dark brown head fading. Nose is huge chocolate, chocolate, chip, light malts, touch caramel,... Taste is less impressive than the great nose, light soy sauce, bitter leaves, herbs, pretty disappointing compared to the smell, light bitter caramel, touch spice, bit mehh. Managable, touch oily body.
