This is a light and easy to drink stout with some roasted bitter malts in the finish.

33cl Bottle at Kafé België. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, some moccha, dark chocolate. Flavour is moccha, dark chocolate, deep roasted malts, hint of toffee, roasted bitter finish with a little hops. Light-bodied. Tasty stuff.

Tastes like the Stout 8, but a little less outspoken. Nice beer, but I prefer the 8.

Tap @ Maximus. Dark color, short creamy head. Aroma of soft roasted malts, bit coffee, some earthy hop. Medium bitter in taste, roasty. More like a belgian double but with a cleaner yeast and more roastiness. Lacks some creaminess or some more power out of the malts, like in the Duits & Lauret stout. --- Beer merged from original tick of Diesel on 03 Nov 2014 at 11:40 - Score: 7. Bottle at Cafe De La Gare, Den Haag. Poured a lovely mahogany colour with a thin tan head. The aroma is peaty with some malt. The flavour is medium bitter, smoky spicy, liquorice and with some pepper on the palate. A gorgeous stout, but I prefer the richness of the 8.

Bottle at Cafe De la Gare. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, licorice, far lighter than the 8 but still good. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A good beer but compared to the 8 a little lacking in depth.

Bottle @ home. Opaque pitch black color, full sized long lasting creamy off-white head. Smell malts, dark malts, lightly roasty, lightly coffee. Taste malts, dark malts, lightly roasty, coffee, lightly chocolate, light to medium bitter, slightly earthy. Very nice. Uncomplicated, but no flaws imo. Good mouthfeel, suitable carbonation, medium body.

On tap at Kafe Belgie, Utrecht. Brown pour with a creamy, dark tan head. Nice stout, chocolaty, lightly roasty, some bitter earth, ash. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate bitter finish, some burnt grass, milky chocolate. Not bad.
