Who is afraid of darkness? Dark beer made with several roasted barley from England and Germany, cocoa nibs, lactose and just a bit of hops. A Milk Chocolate Stout as soft as velvet, that recalls powdered cocoa and barley coffee. Don’t be scared by its colour.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 20.02.2015
Aroma has licorice, some coffee, chocolate and lactic tones. Flavour has ash, some coffee and semi-dark chocolate. Palate is a bit stingy and foamy with CO2. Too ashy.

Bottled from Biernavigatie, BB 30 05 14 (ordered it March 17 btw), large sample, served in a shaker. Pours a dark brown cola-like color with a quite big rocky brown head which remains but not leaving much lacing at the side of the glass. Aroma of grapefruity hop, roasted malts, chocolate, mocha, blackcurrant, licorice. Slight sourish from the roast, medium bitter, bit chocolatey sweet. Quite high on carbonation, medium bodied. Lots of roast combined with milk chocolate notes. Too bad carbonation is a bit high and its not as creamy as you would like. Would like to see this on nitro instead of co2. --- Beer merged from original tick of Fear on 29 Dec 2012 at 01:27

--- Beer merged from original tick of Fear on 23 May 2018 at 16:31 - Score: 7
