L’ambassadrice !

Big lasting offwhite head. Clear deep yellow body with light carbonation. Strong peachy earthy herbal aroma with funky oily banana notes. Dry-sweet fruity peachy earthy taste with mealy oily grassy notes. Mid-bodied. Slightly hot, mealy mouthfeel. Dry grassy dandelion and peach aftertaste with grassy oily soft metal notes. Quite bitter, but also sweet enough to balance it. Really lovely. Highly drinkable and full of character. Very complex, too. (0.75l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

Very cloudy. Very bitter when cold, a bit less when warmer. Some decent qualities, but not really my type of beer.

75 cl bottle, BBE 03/2012.
Fresh aroma has some spices. Flavour is much saison-like with wheat and the peppery spices do appear also there. Refreshing and good triple, but the aftertaste is a bit too sticky and bitter for me.

04-04-2012: Same batch after nine months: this has lost the grassy hops and bitterness, but now it has too much sweetish and sticky toffee typical to an aged Belgian ale.

Bottle @ home. Golden color, quite muddy, flakes of yeast. Almost white head, lasting. Refreshing aroma’s of lemon, lemongrass, malt, spices, some grassy hops. Flavor is somewhat (malty) sweet and has a hint of fruity sourness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Finishes dry and bitterish. Good, solid triple.

On tap at Delirium Café, shared with Finn. Hazed golden, tiny head, spotty lacing. Fresh fruity aroma. Malt-fruity taste with yeasty hints. Rounded bittersweet endnotes. Medium bodied. Nice (Brussel, 07.05.2011).

Sampled on draft at the Sharp Edge Beer Emporium this beer poured a hazy bright yellow color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered. The aroma was tangy candied fruits and table sugar. The flavor was tangy and a bit dry and vaguely spicy with undertones of must, pear, bread and noticable alcohol. The finish was medium length tangy sugar. Medium body. A bit disappointing.

(bottle, 75cl) Cloudy, golden coloured hue with loads of floaties and a blond medium-sized foamy head. Moderately sweet malty and fruity aroma with notes of grapefruit, oranges, accompanied by a touch of barnyard. Sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied with a spritzy carbonation. Solid malt-character with fruity and yeasty accents, again lighter notes of barnyard; medium-dry fruity and quite zesty bitter finish with a lasting fruity, slightly hoppy and malty aftertaste. 02.III.11

Bottle. A hazy golden coloured pour with a large healthy white head on top. Sweet, honey, fruity aroma. Tastes sweet, honey, spice, orange, citrus fruit. Nicely balanced and warming. Had this on tap at Delirium Brussels many times too. An excellent Belgian tripel.
