Bottle. Golden beer with a light head. The aroma is dryly grassy hopped, and the flavour is quite bitter and dry with a grassy body and a long dry finish. Overall a reasonable grassy and dry golden beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a blond and dense medium-sized foamy head. Citric hoppy aroma with herbal accents and a whiff of cara-malt in the background. Moderately bitter flavour, light bodied with a little fizz on the tongue. Dry and mildly malty base with an aromatic hops character with fruity and slightly herbal notes; dry and moderately bitter finish with a lasting citric and exotic-fruity aftertaste. Quite more-ish, a pleasant session beer. 09.III.12

Oct 2011: Brown 500ml bottle best before Jan 2013: struggled to see why this was one of the winners in the 2011 Sainsbury’s Beer Comp. Poured into Veltins Pilsner tulips it looked very lager/pilsner in appearance, being light golden and clean. Some hops in the smell but not much more than a regular lager, could find no reason they claim it is a Lager and IPA hybrid so far. Just like a Lager. The taste didn’t excite either, there may have been a more hoppy flavour and feel to it than some Lagers but I’ve certainly had hoppier Pilsners/Lagers during my drinking life. More hype than hip hip hurray in my eyes. Appears to have been a lot of messing about during the brewing and ’lagering’ process without any discernible impact on the finished product.

Bottle: Clear, golden, small and stable white foamy layer, distinctive, but nevertheless soft, citric hoppy nose with a light sweetish-grainy background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied, very smooth; lingering soft lemony-malty finish accompanied by a slight tartness. Really nice session beer…

500 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.1%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. As the beer is hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Amarillo, Styrian and Cascade, I expected the aroma to be something special, but it isn’t - just grassy notes on a background of malt sugar. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is clean, medium sweet and tolerably well hopped for a pale lager - yes, this is a lager, and not much of a "hybrid". At 33 IBU it is hardly an IPA by any stretch of the mind. Grassy finish. Drinkable, but won’t buy again.
