BBE 26/09/14 - Pours dark brown, almost black with a medium head. Aroma of sweet ripe fruits, caramel, toffee, hints of roastiness, yeasty notes and some plums. Taste is sweetish malty and mildly roasty with some ripe fruits, dark caramely notes and syrup. Finish is bitter and malty with some ripe fruity notes and dry wooden roastiness. Okay, a bit unbalanced Belgian strong ale, the dry roastiness doesn’t really fit here.

From tap @ Kafe Belgie. Dark brown colour, fast disappearing tan head. Nose is caramel, molasses, spices. Flavour is caramel malts, chocolate, bit fruity. Fairly sweet. A bit cloying.

Smells like caramel, a little bit of fruit. Pours with great lacing. Tastes boozy and like sweet caramel. Some milkiness, though I don’t know how to elucidate any more about that. Mostly sweet but there’s some light oaky bitterness at the end. Low carbonation, pours reddish brown. On tap at Blue Monk.

Pours dark amber/brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits, yeast, raisin, plums, apricot and alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long malty and fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

330 ml. bottle poured in to a tulip. "Very dark" brown colour with a reddish hue. Big, bubbly light tan head. Complex aroma with roasted and caramel malts, fruity yeasts, mocha and figs. Some resin hops. Light sweet taste. Medium to full body with a creamy texture. Long lasting finish with yeasts, exotic fruits, bitter chocolate, liquorice, roasted and bread malts. A super complex Belgian ale, a good mixture of styles.

330ml bottle, 8.2% abv, to glass. Bought at The Bottle Shop in Brugge more than a year ago. Creamy, lightly brown head. Opaque dark brown body. Bready malts and dried fruits to the nose. Taste of dark malts successfully mixed with dark plums and added by a spicy hint and with a cellar-like touch to it. Semi-tart, fruity ending. Soft in the mouth. Has got many qualities (Tromsø, 14.07.2012).
