Wet wood, oxidised grapes & apple peel. Sweet grape, apple, caramel. Sweet dried fruits, dessert wine-like alcohol warmth. Still enjoyable overall.

Aroma of fruits, spicy yeast, caramel, apricots, grapes, white wine. Flavour is quite sweet, yeasty, fruity. Thick and sticky mouthfeel. Decent.

Bottled. Deep orange colour with a mediumsized foamy off-white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is sweet malts, ripe fruits, some wood, mild herbal and white wine tones with some slight spicy yeast too. Flavour is ripe fruit, some herbal, mild sweet malts with alcohol and some wooden and spicy yeast as well.

Corked bottle. Amber colo. Hints of oak and Sauternes wine in the aroma. You can smell the ’noble rotting’. Banana sweeties. Malty sweetish, slightly alcoholic flavor with liquorish vinous notes. Interesting!

Beautiful golden color with orange reflex, hazy, and creamy head. The aroma is vinous, with alcohol, lightly fruity. Smooth mouthfeel, with nice soft malt flavor, light wine touch an pleasant fresh oak, vanilla; moderate sweetness; the bitterness is rather low; warming final.

Good experiment, but I didn’t really work for me. The beer is a bit too boozy and sharp. But if you like Sauternes, this might be more up your alley.

Draft at the Kaapse Beer festival. Pours cloudy golden brown with an off white head. Aroma of yeast, light tart fruits, vinous aspects, grapes and barrel. Flavour is light moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.
