On cask @ the Guildford Arms. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn crema head. Nose - fresh coffee over chocolate and cream. Taste - more well integrated coffee and chocolate notes and again softened by the creamy backbone. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced dry finish. Overall - yes, lovely.

Cask at Guildford Arms. It pours darkest brown with a decent light tan head. The nose is rich roast, coffee, dark chocolate, creaminess, rubber tire and earth. The taste is bitter, roasty, dark cocoa, creamy, milk chocolate, coffee, toast, mild astringency with a lingering roasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well executed and rather tasty.

Chelmsford Summer Beer Fest. Cask. Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is smooth and dry. Mild fine carbonation. Mild dry dark malts, touch of roast. Dry and bitter dark chocolate. Mild tangy dark fruits, little malt cream. Mellow coffee. Some orangey citrus before a dry finish. Plenty going on here but a tad dry.

Cask from Noble’s and The Pantry, and can from Cork & Cask. Dark brown body with a tight tan head than holds well. Excellent lacing. Aroma of espresso and chocolate. Flavour of coffee, sweet milk chocolate, plum and a hint of vanilla. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Very rich and packed full of flavour - not sure if I could drink more than one in a sitting though.
