Cask at Teuchters Landing, Leith. Dark, almost purplish brown. Catches the light quite nicely. Little bit of khaki head. Milky coffee and a bit of chocolate and caramel on the nose, the taste has a welcome bitter edge alongside the chocolately sweetness. Body’s a bit flat, but I can live with that... a pretty good stout.

Cask at the Bow Bar - Edinburgh. Pours black-brown with a creamy beige head. Nice sweet chocolate nose with nips of roast and vanilla. Medium sweet flavor with further chocolate character, some raisins, oily vanilla, burnt wood, mellow earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with some sugary burnt dark malts, more chocolate, mild smoke, cocoa, vanilla, scorched earth. Very drinkable. Solid.
