50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 09.11.2014
Aroma has toffee and hay. Also some raspberry juice and grainy notes. Flavour is sweetish with toffee, some hay, harsh maltiness and minerals. Also raspberry juice in the background. Confusing stuff; I like some elements here but this feels a bit harsh. Closer to Irish red than ESB.

Bottle. Clear deep amber color with a slowly-dissipating beige head. Aroma of caramel, some fruitiness, nutty notes and earthy hops notes. Sweet caramel flavor with some dark bread, biscuits and some fruitiness, finishes with mild hoppy bitterness, slightly spicy, with the malt sweetness still lingering. Medium-bodied. So-so.

Bottle from Tesco drunk at home. Clear red amber coloured beer with a thick beige head. It’s a vague go at an American Red Ale I guess. Some peppery hop, some raspberry strawberry flavour. Not entirely awful and quite passable, but a little light in terms of intensity of flavour. The flavours are there, but it’s a little watery and lacks intensity.

A good looking beer, colour is coppery, a head is blond and medium. Aroma is caramelly, slightly wooden, also some fruits and hint of citrus. Caramell malts in the taste but wooden and quite fresh hoppyness dries the taste, also some fruis. Short taste. Light+ bodied, slightly harsh to drink. In principle, a good beer with some complexicity but the flavours are very low that’s bothering.

Bottle from Supervalu, Longford [170214]
Copper red, clear, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma - Caramel malts, minerals, touch of red fruits, bit metallic, not liking the mineraly nose,
Taste of caramel malts, flinty mineral taste, touch of hedgerow fruits, some twiggy bitter hops, bit metallic, no this isn’t working for me
Palate - Soft carb, rather thin body. Finish is dry. touch of brown malt with a touch of hedgerow fruit, bitter minerals.
Overall - Really below average, not a good beer, didn’t finish it

50cl bottle from Tesco. Golden amber with a scummy off-white head; berry fruit aroma; matching raspberry taste, with a lingering sweetness; and some caramel to finish. I wonder if I’m drinking the same beer as the brewer, based on their description!
