Bacchus Cherry Beer is brewed using Bacchus Flemish Old Brown as a base. This cherry beer surprises with a slight touch of caramel from the roasted malt. Bacchus Cherry Beer offers a beautiful balance between the aromas of ripe cherries and the sweet and sour of the base beer.

Botltled. Lightly hazy burgundy colour, rich beige head. Aroma of sweet balsamic cherries. Sweet with medium body and rounded moutheel. Saccharine and sugar kills pleasant woody cherries. Fragments of pleasant flavours remains underneath all sugar and sweeteners. A slight tartness saves some character. Low bitterness.

Bottle shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen 13.101.16. Dark ruby. Beige head and lacing. Intense aroma of roasted almonds, marzipan and cherries. Similarly fine taste. Refreshing, with long aftertaste of cherries and bitter almond.

Flaske delt med Ovesen ombord på Fridtjofen: klar, dyp rødlig med intens aroma av kirsebær, mandler og marsipan. Smaken er naturligvis søt, men den blir ikke kleimete. Fint skum. En herlig dessertøl.

On tap at Craft Room. Deep ruby red body with an off white head, lasting. Cherry dominates the aroma, just light dust. Cherries dominate the taste as well here, with light maltiness in the background, vaaague funk maybe, no sourness really. Slightly lighter version of Kasteel Rouge taste-wise. Actually a very good fruit beer. And definitely a fruit beer more than a sour red/brown in this case.

Deep purple color, with a medium pink head. Aroma is sweet, with some artificial cherry notes. Taste is not too sweet, with some acidic finish. Not too bad, but I expected something better, since the oud bruin is quite good.

375ml bottle. Pours a clear red-brown with a small, fully dissipating, off-white head. Sweet aroma of cherries and a hint of oak. Sweet flavour of cherries and sugar with a hint of oak and a dry, tart, slightly acidic finish. Light body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A nice, easy drinking kriek.

375ml bottle, nicely wrapped and presented. Pours a clear deep dark red/burgundy colour, with a medium sized pale pink head. Aroma of sweet cherries. Likewise the taste is also sweet cherries, malt, a hint of sourness, with a lightly acidic tart finish. Nice kriek.

Bottle courtesy of Dunbar72. Pours clear reddish brown with a small creamy pinkish offwhite head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity with cookies, artificial cherries, almonds, hay, dry soil and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, sour and fruity. Mouthfeel is round, tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is sweet with fairly prominent longlived tartness. Decent tart cherry presence but too sweet.
