A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of pungent resinous floral hops, citrus pulp coffee grind, musty character, light vanilla extract, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light vanilla, light peated notes, coffee grind, espresso resin, light Oyster notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. Bottle at the Big Deck tasting 2016.

Bottle shared thanks to RandomStrangerNL. Black with short lasting dark brown head. Massive roasted coffee, sweet dark chocolate, coffee liquor, bitter old wood, lots of roasted malts, light toffee. Over medium sweet and bitter. Almost full bodied with a bit slick feel. Very nice.

Bomber received in trade. Thank you Brandon! Pours CCB characteristic oily pitch black with a very small creamy dark mocha head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and roasty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, espresso coffee, bitter chocolate, dried sour cherries, burnt raisins, moist soil and hints of alcohol and vanilla. Taste is sweet, bitter, slightly salty, malty and roasty. Mouthfeel is viscous, oily, round, roasted astringent, tiny boozy and full bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter and slightly salty with heavy roasty malts, espresso coffee, salted caramel and bitter chocolate. Big roasty piece this and I quite love it. The BA version is smoother but this is very charming in its roughness. Also a fan of the subtle rather than overwhelming vanilla aspect of it.

atch up rating from last night’s RIS bottle share. Mild coffee notes flavor this throughout, not overdone, just nicely accenting the bold stout body. Really, really well done.

Boise Imperial Stout Tasting. Pours a medium depth of brown, thin beige head. Espresso and mocha aroma, light roast. Rich espresso taste with more mocha notes. Also picked up a little bit of smoke... Still a mostly coffee forward and sweet experience overall.
