Our full strength IPA nods to the best I found whilst travelling the U.S – the result is deceptively drinkable, with a burnt orange colour and full flavour in the mouth. Huge amounts of simcoe & centennial hops find their way into the kettle, with even more sneaking in post fermenation for a ‘proper’ IPA flavour.

tap@Pelt Trader, London - pours amber with good off-white head. Strong hoppy aroma and taste, some great citrus/tropical freshness to this, big grapefruit, orange and lemon, some pine, sweet caramel malts, toffee, solid bitter finish. Another new brewer for me and good initial impression.

Keg at the Pelt Trader. It pours clear amber with a small yellow-white head. The nose is juicy tropical fruit...mango, tangerine etc, as well as caramel, candy, wood and varnish. The taste is bitter-sweet, chewy, earthy, wood, resin, orange, zesty grapefruit, pithy lemon, light soap and alcohol bite with a dry, warming finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. A touch thin and perhaps too hot. Decent nonetheless.

Cask handpull at Cask Pub & Kitchen Pimlico. Clear amber colour lasting beige head. Big hoppy and what you want from a big ipa. Grapefruit. Toffee. But on cask it’s still git quite a light mouthfeel. Good hops and bitterness on the finish. Pink grapefruit. Pretty good

Cask at EBF XVI, 07/11/13. Clear golden amber with a thin off white swirl that stays for the show. Nose is hop forward, caramel, grass, orange, grapefruit. Taste comprises orange pith, grapefruit, bitter hops, caramel malt, straw. Medium bodied with a little pinch, fine carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the finale. Very good cask IPA.

Pelt Trader. Euston Tap. Keg. Light haze on this gold - amber beer. Residual white head. Light tropical fruits on the nose. Palate is softish with fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malt, not sweet but a little creamy. Hops are a nice mix of mellow skunk, minty pine and light tropical fruits. Mellow bitterness. Comes together well in to a smooth finish. Nice!

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell - London. So so. Lots of jammy citrus fruits, bready malts. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. There’s a bit of dryness in the finish, some dry bread and further jammy citrus, orange, marmalade. Quite ho hum. The hop expression is fairly muted. Drinkable but not especially inspiring.
