Through autumn we forage the hedgerows around the brewery that are heavy with berries. Every year we will bring out Redwood, an annual release celebrating the previous years hedgerow vintage.
Aged for almost a year in some second use Modus Operandi, Burgundy red wine and Scotch Whisky barrels to produce a rich, rounded, tart beer that is intriguing and tasty.
This year we believe it's our best aged with copious amounts of Sloes, Blackberries, Raspberries, Mulberrys, Damsons, Plums, Gooseberries, and Elderberries. Need we say more?

Bottle. Almost clear, reddish golden body with a nice, big, dense off-white head. Pleasant aroma of acidic red berries, wood, mild funk and hint of cherry. Taste is acidic fruity like aroma with wood and funk. Really smooth and balanced with a pleasant tart aftertaste. Fine balance in taste, body and aftertaste. Nice one.

19/7/2018. Draught at Bierrex, Newcastle. Pours hazy dark amber to brown with an off-white to beige head. Aroma of sour berries, caramel, wood, sour cherries, sour plum, bread and yeast. Light sweetness, moderate bitterness, medium to heavy sour. Medium body, oily texture, bit too carbonated. That aside, really good.
