Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is burnt caramel, nuts, roast malt, molasses, brown sugar and hops. Notes of smoke as well.

Aroma has lots of nuts. Also some roasted notes, chocolate and American hops. Flavour has shitloads of nuts. Also brown sugar, malty notes, American hops and molasses. Too sweet and too much nuts.

22 ounce bottle. Deep mahogany brown color topped by a medium-sized rocky beige head. Rich roasted malt aroma with earthy, cocoa and brown sugar nuances. More roasted malt and cocoain the flavor. Caramel and nuts come throghas well. Nice peppery hops in finish. Very well balanced and flavorful.

Very dark brown mahogany colour. Initial taste is woody, quite drying. Roasted malts and chocolate come through later.

Bottle shared at Evening Star, Brighton on 3rd November 2012. Deep brown with yellow-white head and creamy lace. Spicy aroma with bitter chocolate notes. Sweet malts and caramel in-mouth, with intense nuttiness - peanut and hazelnut. Sweet fruits include peach and strawberry, with continued nuttiness in finish. Zingy mouthfeel. Intense and flavoursome.

Rich walnut and maple syrup nose, somewhat vegetal. Clear brown, thin yellow head. Coffee flavor in and out, sweet and roasty. Boiled cabbage, unfortunately is equally prominent. This beer has some really nice points, aside from the DMS, which is unavoidable.

Bottle. Browny red beer with a reasonable head. The aroma is heavy on the alcohol and mildly roasted, the flavour has a vinous quality with heavy roasted’ness and malt. Overall a reasonable beer with a strong roasted and vinous quality to it.

650ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a medium, frothy head. Aroma is raisin, molasses and a little coffee. Taste has caramel to start with a rich raisin and molasses finish.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; this brown ale pours dark brown with a frothy off white head. Sweet malt aroma with a feint whiff of hop. Carbonation is just right giving a tingly slick mouthfeel. Tast is malt, raisins with slight bitter hop. Really good beer not had a bad one from the Bear Republic.
