From a 330ml bottle on 19/4/2016. Pours an extremely dark brown with a biggish uneven head. The nose features dark fruit, booze and Belgian yeast. Taste wise, it’s quite sweet and very plummy, with some raisins, with hints of spice and chocolate. It’s earthy, a touch sharp and has the typical Belgian yeastiness that you’d expect. The texture is thick with slightly fizzy carbonation. A decent, boozy sipper which lacks a bit of subtlety and refinement for mine. Just not the type of beer that blows my hair back.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Clear dark brown to black with a thin tan head. Roasted malts and dark fruits dominate the aroma. Taste is sweet with some licorice notes. Nice winter beer.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home after final Hungry Ghosts show. Dark brown nutty pour - very Belgian-looking. Persistent thin tan head. Aroma is Belgian-y, dubbel/quadrupel-y mix of dark fruit and spice though not too much. Some toffee too. Taste is similar but slightly hoppier and more herbal. Not too heavy on the palate. Biscuit malt and boozy warmth on the finish. Warmth lasts. Not my style still but this isn't bad.

Bottled (from Willems, Grobbendonk). More or less pitch black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, spices, alcohol. Flavour is quite similar, with some ripe fruits and dark berries as well. Wellbalanced and quite a pleasant surprise. Almost an imperial stout meeting a kind of Belgian strong "donker".
