330 ml bottle, as Klevere Tien Zwart & Straf 10, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10%. Mahogany colour, huge beige head. Aroma of malts, prunes and other dark fruits, caramel and chocolate. Malty flavour with the same elements, not too sweet. Low bitterness.

Bottle. Black pour with a medium beigeish brown head. Aroma is sweet boozy soy, light char, light coffee. Mouth feel is lighter than expected, carb is good. Finish is sweet, and roasty, but not as much roast as you would think. The roast is soft and fruit, slightly bready, more Baltic porter. I don't feel this is Belgian, it's more of a fruit, soft Baltic porter. Alcohol is very well hidden, this packs a punch, and sneak up on you.

Aroma of dark malt, bread, caramel, dried fruits, sugar, liquorice, herbs, some chocolate. Flavour is quite sweet, some alcohol, with a chocolate sweet finish. Not my kind of beer, but well crafted for the style.

Beer #17 (of 19) of my 9000th Beer Celebration [9 beers on both sides of #9000th itself] Super dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, fairly fast-dying tan head that fades quickly. Aroma of caramel, molasses, pitted fruits, apples, pears, light spices with a lot of dryness, and a ton of yeast and slightly bready notes with a ton of sugars noticeable. Full-bodied; Super strong malty notes dominate with a lot of musty notes with some earth, grain, nuts and specialty grain flavours with a lot of robust sweetness and pitted fruit flavours with a lot of complexity from the malts and yeast and a touch of spices noticeable with allspice and cloves all here and a good earthiness and a good deal of musty and mushroomy notes here. Aftertaste shows a lot of malt notes of course, but the sweetness and the yeastie, bready notes are by far the strongest here with a lot of grain and more complexity from the sugars in a good way. Overall, a nice and robust, especially malty beer with a good spice component and some very earthy and musty notes with a lot of sweetness of course and a strong subtle complexity throughout. I sampled this 33 cL bottle, purchased from [the old, great] New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on my very last trip to the store (before it was closing) on 26-February-2018 for US$4,75 sampled at my house here in Washington for Beer #17 (of 19) of my 9000th beer celebration [9 beers on both sides of #9000th itself] on 28-September-2021.
