50 cl bottle. Pours dark brown. Clear. Breadish. Toasted malt. Sweet. Lingering sweet. Toasted and sweet malty. Toasted and sweet malty finish.

KØ19. Sweet and caramelly aroma. Dark brown colour. No head. Cola raisin flavour. Late raisin note.

Fra fat (smaksprøve) på Baziliska, Vilnius: nesten helt sort med et lite rødskjær. Så og si uten skum. Intens aroma og smak av mørk vørter, søtt rugbrød med vørterølsmak (slik vi ble servert til frokosten på hotellet), mørk sirup og snev av citrus (som forsåvidt ga den en frisk smak, men alt for søt til at jeg bestilte et glass). Tydeligvis en nasjonaldrikk ettersom jeg så gira på alle skjenkesteder og i butikkene.

1,5L bottle (from Špunka). Pours dark brown with beige head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is nice full black bread, raisins, malt. Flavor is sweet, rye bread, caramel, and faint acidic notes. Body is watery, carbonation is rather high. Overall: nice low alcohol brew, maybe a tad bit too watery for me. At least it isn’t too acidic like most of the commercial kvass/gira/kali.

Small head immediately disappears. Deep dark brown barely translucent body. Oily honey and rye aroma with treacle and earth notes. Dry-sweet plasticky earthy syrup taste with rye notes. Mid-to-full body. Soft, mild mouthfeel, somewhat flat. Dryish caramelly rye syrup aftertaste with herbal honey notes. Very nice. Lovely session beer. (Big bottle at Bamb Alyne, Vilnius.)
