Total Wine, Fairfax 12oz bottle ($2): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is grassy hops and a bit of bread. Taste is like a bold pilsner. A good amount of Gemanly reminiscent hops. Nice malt backbone. everything is done very well. This is crisp, refreshing, and inviting.

Lager? HA HA. This stuff from the start makes me think of IPA. Smells and tastes like an ipa with a tad of that lager thing, but not much. Wew, much more over the top than I was expecting. No way is this 4.7%; if it is, its quite a sessionable hoppy beer. Decent head. Good co2 makes it drinkable and avoids a totally oily palate. Grows on you but never quite gets to cheap pale lager gentleman manners. Ipa all over this stuff, I bet it has a high percentile rating as a result. Not really lager as we know it.

Bottle at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö, Norra Vallgatan
Blond color, with small head. Poor aroma, some paper and corn. Dry mouthfeel; the flavor is no better than any common German Pilsner; the hops provides a very light citrusy touch.
Boring.

355ml bottle @ Hilpeä Hauki, Helsinki
Pours light clear orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of grassy hops, pine, bready malts and metallic notes. Taste is hoppy and slightly malty with bready and grassy notes. Finish is slightly bitter and fruity with some metallic notes. Okay, quite tasty for a lager.

Several 16oz pints at RFD in DC. Bartender asked me if I wanted to try it first and I told him, "One lager is the same as another." Couldn’t be more true. Pours a totally crystal clear gold with one ring of white head. Nose of corn, wet malt, grass, light lemon. Flavor is the same, sugary, honey, malt, corn syrup, little grass, little orange. Light bodied, watery finish.
