Thanks to tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Sanne’s birthday tasting. Golden, orange, thick creamy white head. Nose is promising, soapy thick passion fruit, mango, tad fizzy. Taste is extremely unbalanced, very bitter herbal & not fruity at all, raw bitter pine & herbs with light touch of soap, tad herbal malts,… Med malty body. Not terrible but way too unbalanced.

14/XI/14 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ Sanne's birthday tasting (Gent) - BB: n/a (2014-1316) Thanks to Bene for picking up the bottle for me!
Clear orange beer, huge creamy solid white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: soapy, bit chemical and rubbery, some overripe exotic fruits, rotten banana. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet, sugary, very soapy, unpleasant bitterness, weird stuff. Aftertaste: chemical, bit sugary, medicinal bitterness, unpleasant.

Bouteille 33cl, lot# L51, BB 05/2015. Note ce petit côté épicé du seigle. Je m’attendais à autre chose, la papaye est ici bcp trop présente.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 05/2015
Aroma is somewhat sweet with fruit candy, hay and apricot. Also some tropical fruits. Flavour has apricot, minerals, spices and some grapefruit. Weird, feels like spicy Belgian ale with some grassy hops. Stuffy, feels like some Hiisi beers.

330ml bottle from Bierkompass
BBE 05/2015 - Pours dark orange with a massive foamy head. Aroma of stuffy fruity hops, caramely malts, zesty exotic notes and toffee. Taste is stingy, stuffy and juicy fruity with some zesty citrus and lemony notes. Finish is stuffy and zesty with some yeasty notes, maltiness, exotic fruits and lemon. A bit unbalanced and messy.

Bottle from Bierkompass.de. Orange to amber, moderate hazy body, with a big, stable, creamy, white head. Indeed, the aroma is a lot of papaya, also passion fruit and some other tropical fruits, citrus candy, lots of vanilla, caramel, some grass. Taste is quite similar, also lots of papaya and the other aromas mentioned, but with more citrus, some pine and a lovely malt backbone, again with smooth vanilla notes. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a lively carbonation and it finishes bitter, dry, with grapefruit, pine, grass and some sweet malt notes. Delicious! Very interesting IPA, with a lot of character. Both, the hop and malt aromas are pretty unique, papaya and vanilla, quite sweet, but really easy to drink because of the great balance and the completely hidden ABV. Best IPA from southern Europe I’ve had so far!
