Brewed for the early risers, who sacrifice sleep and warmth for a the first meeting of the day aboard a wave to shore.
Added in 2013 to the Port Brewing year-round lineup, Board Meeting is an amplified Brown Ale, brewed with liberal additions of coffee from local San Diego roasters, Ryan Brothers and cocoa nibs sourced from famed San Francisco chocolate maker TCHO. Deep coffee flavor gives way to layers of bitter dark chocolate and a creamy vanilla body.

Bottle. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a healthy tan head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, coffee aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, bitter chocolate and coffee with a little caramel. Decent enough but quite hard to drink the whole bottle.

Huge beige head doesn’t last. Nearly opaque black body. Cold coffee and earthy vanilla aroma with chocolatey notes. Sweet earthy coffee taste with wooden bubblegum notes. Full-bodied. Mild, flat, smooth mouthfeel. Sweet earthy wooden coffee aftertaste with burnt toast notes. Artificial, overly burnt, overly sweet mess. Will not buy again. (0.65l bottle, from Fish & Beer, Copenhagen.)

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a dark brown with medium beige head. The aroma is roast and cacao nibs. Medium body with rich chocolate malt, light roast, nuts, light dry finish, very good.

A very dark brown, a head is big, beige and creamy. Aroma has lots of strong coffee and roastiness, some dark chocolate and sweetness of berries. Taste has coffee, chocolate, mild roastiness, some liquirice and hint of dried and dark fruits in the end. Also lactose sweetness is balancing the taste. Medium+ bodied, smooth carbonation, also smooth and pleasant palate. Strong coffee is nicely presented, especially in the aroma, but that’s just great. Taste has great balance even there are lots of different elements. Magnificent beer.
