Old rating - A 330ml bottle that I've had in my cellar for 4+ years. Best Before June 2020. All the better for it. Pours a dense black colour with a beige head. Aromas & tastes of dark fruits, chocolate, brown sugar, roasted malts & a good level of alcohol. Excellent

Lots of plums, and dark ripe fruit. Big bready malts and loads of dark sweet brown sugar. Lively carb, and good mouth feel. Sweet dark fruit flavour, low bitterness, with a big fruity, bready malt finish.

Bottle at home. As "Monk’s Brew". Aroma is malt, spices, caramel, raisins, yeast, candy sugar, a welcome touch of chocolate. Flavour is sugary sweet, a bit sticky, with a little bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Nice take on the Trappist Quad, rich and smooth.

Аромат не особо яркий но глубокий, тонный. Много ароматов некого цветка, много солода, хлеб, бананы,сухофрукты с намеком на вино и сливу. Цвет сливовый, приятный, пена просто убойная, серая по цвету и невероятно стойкая. Вкус весьма сдержанный. По большей части фруктовый и хлебный. Много сливы, немного изюма, темные фрукты, вообще сильно походит на темный крепкий эль в Бельгийском стиле. Послевкусие умеренно сладкое, снова много солода с дрожжевыми нотами. Немного фруктов снова, совсем немного карамели. Не блистательно, но весьма благородно и стабильно.

Draught, half pint. @Ramen To Biiru Vesterbro, Copenhagen (Denmark). 23/10/2021 [#4.549 Global - #284 Denmark - #71 Mikkeller] Deep amber to copper colour with a beige head. Dark fruits, wood, toffee and raisins. Strong sweet finish. Slightly boozy and sugary. Next one please!

Brown with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma full of raisins, prunes and toffee. Very pleasant sniffing. Taste is mildly bitter. Body barely at medium—to light for the style. You need a bit of contemplative chewing to truly enjoy a beer of this caliber. Ends on a boozy note with lingering fruitiness. Pretty good with a few flaws that can be overlooked depending on the mood.
