Bottle shared at Churchkey. Thanks everyone! Amazing beer.... (can I stop my review right there). Anyway... Poured a beautiful looking dark orange color with a small foamy white head. Aroma was notes of wonderful funk - touch of balsamic, citrus and stone fruits. Nectarines, plum, apricot - with some acidic grapefruit character. Flavor had all those wonderful notes - tartness that hit all the right spots in the mouth, plenty of tangerine, light mango character - seriously, probably the best beer I’ve had this year.

Bottle shared at ChurchKey. Dark brown with off-white head. Aromas of Brett, funk, floral notes, citrus. Tasting notes of tart fruit, Brett, funk, vinegar, dark fruit. Medium body with a dry finish. Enjoyed this quite a bit.

Bottle at home and pours at WTF. Pours with a hazy brown to deep bronze hue with a small tan head that fades. Aromas are of funk, dark fruit, raisins, currants, very vinous, brandy, earthy leather and light chocolate. Moderate tannins, some brightness, cherries. Flavors are floral, fruity and funky brett, almost a touch tropical, mejool dates, medium sourness, floral, a touch raspy on the back of the throat. Lots of barrel. Good funk, vinous, rich. Fuller carbonation, pretty dry, puckering, tannins. Enjoyable!

Bottle. Dark mahogony-brown beer with a tan head. Sour, light acetic aroma with lots of wine barrel notes. Sour, light acetic flavor with dark fruit and barrel notes. Medium bodied. Sour, light acetic notes linger with cognac, oak, malt, and a nice fruitiness. Very nice.

On tap at The Source. Pours a dark amber with medium beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong funk, oak, and fruit. Medium mouthfeel with dark fruits, light spice, tart in the finish. Easy to drink, very good.

On tap @ the release party @ Crooked Stave’s Source location. Somewhat hazy reddish brown appearance with a thin, disappearing tan head. Aroma has a bunch of plum / dark berry / dark grape fruits. Some tannic notes also present and actually a fair amount of roast / toffee / caramel / burnt malt. The flavor is moderately tart. Black cherry / dark grape notes are pretty apparent. Some woody / leathery notes. Light acetic acid. Finishes pretty smooth. Pretty fun brew and definitely easy to drink.

Batch 1 bottle. Aroma is very similar to that of a young Flanders red. Lots of cherry, berry and cassis with some lighter oak notes. Malt character is light but there is some chocolate and hints of roast. Light caramel and toffee as well. Pours a dark brown with some ruby highlights and a small, medium thick, tan head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers for a bit. No lacing and small legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with a medium light acidity. Like the aroma the flavor has a lot of fruit character. Cherry, berries and cassis are all present in large quantities. Medium oak notes add tannins as well as complexity. Light bitterness and low alcohol spice. Hints of grapes and raisins in the finish. Light chocolate, caramel and toffee notes. Mouthfeel is medium to medium light bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall this is a pretty darn good beer that really reminds me of a Flanders sour but with a bit less acidity. Lots of fruit and berry character with oak notes that really compliment well. Light malt notes also add complexity.

The appearance has a dark brown colored body with a slight transparency to it. There is a thin less-than-a-half finger white foamy head that dies within thirty seconds with barely any lacing.
The smell has mostly a vinous aspect to it through some strong soured raspberries and cherries, also with a light funk. The Brett is there but super light, and after some warming I do get the oak.
The taste has a strong sour and tart flavoring through the wine-like qualities of raspberries and cherries. There is a super dry wine-like aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, she sits about a medium on the body with not much of a sessionable quality to her. Carbonation is dry and harsh like wine.
Overall, well, its another American Wild Ale that seems to be unimpressive. This is more of a wine in disguise. I wouldn’t have this again.

Draft: Poured murky brown with red edge. Head was thin. Aroma was pungent and funky. Taste was similar funky fruit, malt, strong Brett, zesty to the tongue.
