On tap at Euston Tap, pours a dark amber with a large beige head. Nose reveals metallic notes, not a whole lot else. Flavour is a bit metallic too, with secondary notes of earthy bready malt. Something quite off about this - surprised at the ratings. Okay, but not great.

Bottle. An unclear, brown beer topped by a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma has a nice piney, citrusy touch, with roasted, chocolatey notes. Sort of like sticking the nose into a bag of hops, with chocolate and roasted malts as well. The flavor has a fine bitterness, it’s quite dry and pleasantly carbonated, full body. Lasting bitter finish with roasted malts, chocolate and some cocoa. Some notes of diacetyl in the very end. A quite pleasant and tasteful one. 140420
