A pale ale with spicy, grassy aromas and a taste of grapefruit and apricot. Undercurrent is part pale, part oats and part caramel barley. Her swirls of bold, bready and nutty malt whirl into a concoction of spicy, citrus, floral hops. Mystery lurks in those cascade and palisade hops. Her silky, creamy body will pull you under.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 28 Feb 2014) Amber colour with dense, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, orange and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange peel, apricots, a touch of black-currant and a generous bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. Fresh and quite tasty. Nice one.

Cask (gravity) @ EBF14 2013, 14th Egham Beer Festival, Egham United Services Club (EUSC), 111 Spring Rise, Egham, Surrey, England TW20 9PE.Clear medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit, grass, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, citrus, grapefruit, pine. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130330]

330ml bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Very interesting taste that comes across more like a chardonnay than a beer, very light and elegant on the tongue whilst fruity hop elements appear and disappear, a little gooseberry, some citrus.. you’re trying to unravel it’s character but before you know it the glass is empty and you’re wishing you had another bottle to delve back in. Very intriguing and reminds me of a similar beer I had in Barcade New York. Unfortunately my pre-Ratebeer days so no idea what it was!

Draught @ William K. Annankatu. Aroma has citrusy fruits, some caramel and hints of biscuits. Flavour is hoppy and refreshing with some fruity tones, minerals and a vichy-like feeling. Also some peaches. Just too watery and thin. At least the aroma was nice.

Small yellowish, irregularily bubbled head over very cloudy, ochre-brown beer. Lychee & passionfruit, rainwater. Not really much else, and hoparomas appear rather volatile. Mild-bitter, hoppy flavour, hay, dry wholemeal or oatmeal. Just as the nose, the aromas are dwindling fast, leaving a bitter-grainy brew that is not very distinctive. Oatmeal-slick, medium bodied, medium carbonation. So far the least distinctive of Sirens’ brews tried.

Bottle @ ansjelaah NYE13. Murky orange to brownish colour with no real head. Smells hoppy, fruity, fresh, pine.. Looks quite aweful but smell great. Tastes hops, fruity, quite a lot of mandarin (the fruit, not the people). Nice beer. Medium body, soft carbo.
