A pale ale with spicy, grassy aromas and a taste of grapefruit and apricot. Undercurrent is part pale, part oats and part caramel barley. Her swirls of bold, bready and nutty malt whirl into a concoction of spicy, citrus, floral hops. Mystery lurks in those cascade and palisade hops. Her silky, creamy body will pull you under.

Bottle. A hazy dark golden beer with a dense, finger-thick off-white head. Lots of tropical fruits and pine cones in the aroma. Some malts too. Really surprising, it feels like a DIPA, but it’s at 4.5 % only. Amazing. It’s a bit thin on the palate, of course, with a nice carbonation level. Pale malts, sugar, pine cones, resins and bitterness in the flavor, the bitterness lasting for a good while. An amazing beer in one aspect, but not not my kind of beer anyway. 140717

Pours clear deep golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, pine, citrus and peach. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with a long citrus fruity and piney finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle from the Haymarket. Appearance - cloudy orange with a decent head. Nose - earthy spicy citrus. Taste - bitter lime with a spicy edge. Very pithy. Palate - close to medium bodied with a zingy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - interesting pickled lime thing.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark golden with a finger thick creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts with bread, caramel and toffee, as well as nice sweet zesty hops with orange and peach. Medium body with creamy texture and soft to average carbonation. Flavour is quite bitter and citrusy hoppy with orange peel, as well as roasted malts with bread and caramel. Very nicely balanced, and with a lingering orange peel finish. Tremendous, given it’s ABV.
